It’s time. I’ve held on to this book long enough. One day as I was browsing the Christian Isle of the bookstore, the title of this book caught my attention. So, I purchased it with the intention to read it back then. But I never picked it up. Then one day as I was packing some of my books away, the title caught my attention again. Flipping through its pages briefly, I realized that reading this book is important now more than ever. Here’s what I’m reading for the month of August.

We Will Not Be Silenced

Here’s what this book is about.

Written by Erwin W. Lutzer, this book touches on the moral and spiritual decline of America as she turns her back on core principals of liberty and Christian values. It speaks of the uprise of cancel culture, the breakdown of the nuclear family, and the attack on Christians to keep them quiet when they want to assert biblical truth.

Erwin encourages Christians that in spite of it all, we can take a stand to rise up, speak up, and live out our convictions. Not only that, but we can do it all while still showing love to non-believers without affirming their beliefs.

If I could, I would put this book into the hands of every Christian in America.

Calling all Christian Women.

The world wants us silent but we the Church have been silent long enough. It is my belief that the silence of the church is the reason we are where we are today. Truth be told, we can no longer sit back and watch the enemy use the people of the world to attack our Christian values, destroy the dynamic of the God-ordained families, and attempt to desensitize and indoctrinate our children.

It’s time out for that. God is calling us to rise up and use our God-given authority against the evil one. My friend, that’s no silent act.

This is a call to action.

There’s a quote by Alexander Hamilton that says, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” How true is this for us today? But there’s a Bible verse that I love even better than that.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he. ~Proverbs 29:18 KJV

Another version of the Bible puts it this way.

If a nation is not guided by God, the people will lose self-control, but the nation that obeys God's law will be happy.

It is my belief that people who fall for anything lack vision and guidance. Therefore, they know not what to truly stand for. Consequently, because they are lacking, they fall for anything. Children of God are not supposed to be this way. We don’t have to fall for anything when we can take a mighty stand for the things of God.

God has given us a vision and has been a great guide for us. Since before the beginning of time, He has set and established a standard for holy and righteous living. This is something the world lacks. I for one cannot wrap my mind around how the world continues to be the loudest when Christians are called to be the light that represents the standard of God.

There must be a change. We are in need of a shift in the atmosphere again. The kind of shift that God brings. This time for the better. There is something we can do. We must partner with God to do our part. I believe this book can to a tool to help us.
