5 Reminders God Has in His Word for You When You Seem to Forget Your Purpose

A lot has changed since the pandemic broke out two years ago in 2020. Just like everything in life, these changes have been both good and bad. What’s truly evident is that everyone’s lives have been affected in ways that we’ve never thought possible. We’ve had to make some major adjustments to the way we now live. Especially concerning our physical and mental health. Have all of the changes caused you to lose sight of the purpose for your life and why you’re here? Are you wondering if you still have a purpose? Here are five reminders God has in His word for you when you seem to forget your purpose.

Five reminders God has in His word for you when you seem to forget your purpose:

1. God is still mindful of you. He has been since before you were ever born. Though things around you continue to change, God never changes. He has not forgotten you. His thoughts are still plenty toward you. Everything about your life is still of great concern to Him.

What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?

~Psalm 8:4

2. You are still created for a purpose. God wants to use your life for His glory. There’s nothing accidental about why you’re here. You have been chosen and called by God to be a witness to the testimony of His power working through you.

I will say to the north, “Give them up,” and to the south, “Do not keep them back. Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters for the ends of the earth, even everyone who is called by My name, for I have created him for My glory; I have formed him, and I have made him.”

~Isaiah 43:6,7

3. You are still the light of the world. God still wants you to shine bright for Him. The world is full of darkness. Every day we see people revealing just who they really are. When others are changing, God still wants you to remain true.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

~Matthew 5:14

4. You are still created unto good works. You are the hands and the feet of Jesus. There are still things that God needs you to do. There are still people to serve and lives that He wants you to bless. Continue to walk in them, trusting that God is leading you every step of the way.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we should walk in them.

~Ephesians 2:10

5. You are still a carrier of God’s kingdom within you. There is so much God has placed within you. He still wants to work it through you. Righteousness must still go forth. Love must still be given. You have the power still to let God use you to manifest heaven here on earth.

Nor will they say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘There it is!’ for remember, the kingdom of God is within you.

~Luke 17:21

Friend, it’s important that you never forget these truths. There may always come a time where you will face trials and tribulations. Thankfully, God has promised to be with you, never leaving or forsaking you. So, there will always be an opportunity for you to bounce back and regain focus.

Here are three steps you can take to gain back your focus:

  • Renew your mind with the verses above. Reminding yourself daily of what God says in His word is a sure way to combat any doubts you may have about your life and your purpose.
  • Walk by faith and not by sight. Do your best not to lose sight of the bigger picture. You live in a world that the Word of God says you are no longer a part of. Things may look crazy, but God is still in control. He is the greater one who lives inside of you. The work He has begun in you, He has promised to complete.
  • Ask God to give you a fresh vision for your life. There may be something else that He’s calling you to. Another place He may want you to go. Yet, you’re having a hard time seeing it because this thing called life currently has you down. You need to see a clearer way out. God can give you that if you ask Him.

It’s time for you to get back on track. Take the steps above starting today. God is ready and willing to fill you with new hope.

I’m rooting for you.
