10 Reasons Why the Word of God is so Important to the Life of Every Believer

iPhone users have an app on their phone that allows them to set reminders or things to do on their phone. In this app, there is a spot that lets them rank what they schedule by priority level, ranging from low to high. The fact that they get to do this puts me in mind of the Word of God. And it behooves me to ask at what level of importance does the Word of God rate in your life? Is it low, medium, or high? As believers in Christ, it should be of high importance. Here are ten reasons why the Word of God is so important to the life of every Believer.

All Scripture quotations are taken from the NKJV Bible (New King James) Copyright 1982.

1. The Word of God is our beginning.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ~John 1:1

2. The Word of God has been given to us.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. ~2 Timothy 3:16

3. The Word of God is what we should live by.

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” ~Matthew 4:4

4. The Word of God is God himself.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ~John 1:1~John 1:1

5. The Word of God is spirit and life.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. ~John 6:63

6. The Word of God is alive and powerful.

 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ~Hebrews 4:12

7. The Word of God is proven.

As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. ~Psalm 18:30

8. The Word of God is pure.

Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. ~Proverbs 30:5

9. The Word of God is the truth by which we are sanctified.

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. ~John 17:17

10. The Word of God builds our faith.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ~Romans 10:17

We are alive because of the Word.

The Word of God gives us our origination. It’s how we came into being. From the beginning it has been the stream that has supplied us with the knowledge of the fullness of God. It still supplies us today. There’s nothing the life of a Believer will ever lack when he/she has the Word of God in it.
