A Word of Encouragement for You in the Midst of Covid-19.

Turned upside down is our world right now, as we know it. As a result, things may never be completely the same. However, today I have a word of encouragement for you to remember all of the good things that God has done.

At this time, the world is facing uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Lots of people lost their lives, leaving families torn and distraught as they attempt as best they can to lay their loved ones to rest.

Medical professionals and grocery store workers are in high demand to make sure that the needs of everyone are still met, while they take a risk with their own lives. On the other hand, many people, such as myself, have been temporarily laid off from their jobs. Not only that but, we have been forced to draw unemployment.

Bill collectors have been gracious enough to provide us payment extensions due to the affects that the spread of this virus has had on so many lives. At the same time, children all across the globe are now being home-schooled while parents pull themselves together to make sure that their education for the rest of the school year stays in tact.

Businesses and church buildings have had to close their doors. In the same way, Fast food restaurants are providing drive-thru service only. Officials in leadership warn people to stay in their homes. And if they have to go out, they now practice the rule of social distancing that allows them to be six feet away from the person next to them.

Hence, things have taken a major turn.

Thus, it seems the world is in disarray. Because of this, what was normal for so many people has now turned upside down. In fact, getting back to normal is the cry of so many right now. Certainly, many people just want things to hurry up and go back to the way they used to be. They are longing for the peace. The fellowship. The work. The old routine.

Indeed, a new normal has come upon us.

And, just as there are many who think that things will return to normal, there are many who think that it won’t. Firstly, Believers in Christ believe that God allowed this standstill. Secondly, they believe that this pause from normal is a wake-up call of God’s mercy to His children. They believe that God wants our attention. I, too, just happen to be among the They. I believe that they are right. His message to us?

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

~2 Chronicles 7:14

This is the cry of God to the world right now. Furthermore, many are taking heed to it. As we are all shut in our homes, we are doing exactly what Scripture says. It is to those that this word of encouragement is for today. As you hearken to the cry of God, do this one thing. Remember.

Call to mind what God has done throughout history and in your life.

Remind yourself of Who God is and all of the miracles He’s performed.

  • God spoke the world into being (Genesis 1:1-31).
  • He created man from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7).
  • In like manner, woman was formed from the rib of man (Genesis 2:18-25).
  • As a Provider, a ram was placed in the bush for Abraham (Genesis 22:1-13).
  • Moses heard His voice through a burning bush (Exodus 3:1-4).
  • By the rod of Moses, His power parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:26-27).
  • Manna rained down from Heaven (Exodus 16:4).
  • Mary, a virgin, delivered a baby (Matthew 1:1-25).
  • Through Jesus, He healed the sick (Matthew 4:23).
  • The dead rose (Luke 7:12-15).
  • Blinded eyes were opened (Mark 10:46-52).
  • Lame people walked (Matthew 15:30-31.)
  • The dumb talked (Matthew 12:22).

And…so…much…more.

Remind yourself.

Also, there is much foundation to stand on. Safe. Sure. True.

It will keep you!

Let what God has done be the anchor that says to you that He is holding you down. Remember as a word of encouragement that you are safe and secure in His arms. He has you and there is no need to fear.

God will keep you.

At this time, can you think of one more thing? What has been your word of encouragement to remember?
